Less than two years ago, Deanna Edwards released her first album, "Peacebird." The warmth found in Deanna and in her music and songs brought a gratifying response to that first album. Letters and cards received have told of the comfort and hope people have found in her music. The interim between the release of Deanna's first album and this one has been filled with an ever-increasing demand to conduct workshops and seminoars explaining the philosophy of her music and her work as a volunteer music therapist. The songs in this album are a continuation and expansion of Deanna's involvement in this work.

Each song has a special meaning because it was written by Deanna for or about someone who has affected her life. "Who Will Listen" was written for an old man who complained that no one listens to an old man because his stories, like him, are old. "A Song Is A Gentle Thing" is her response to her patients and to the people who attend her workshops and seminars. "Before It's Too Late" is dedicated to all of us who are too busy to take the time to say, "I love you." "You're Only A Memory Away" was written for her close friend, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, and for Orville Kelly, also a close friend and founder of Make Today Count.

Deanna Edwards is not only a warm, sensitive, talented person, but she has a very special gift in being able to lift people's spirits with her music. She is dedicated to sharing this gift with others, to bringing comfort to the sick, the lonely, the sorrowing.... to al of us who are in need at one time or another.

Take a moment to listen to this album... let Deanna wrap your heart in music for a moment... for in the words of her song, "gifts of love are very hard to find."

This album is dedicated to the people behind these songs: To my husband, Cliff, whose love helped to create this music. To Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and Orville Kelly - who will never be more than a memory away. To my producer, Bill Sheck - whose faith has been a rainbow in my sky. To Shirley Hoffman for opening my heart to volunteer work and to the patients at Mennonite hospital who have taught me how to listen - and how to live. To our arranger, Ed Lojeski, whose care and skill gave life to our songs. To my children - and to Mother and Dad - for helping to make my walk in the world such a beautiful one. Love and peace - Deanna
