Share Love's Light

Share love's light! Don't keep it inside!
The treasures deep within us we sometimes try to hide.
When we share love's light our hearts will be open.
Though easily broken love will make them whole again.

Let me shine for you in sunlight. Shine for you in rain.
Let me be there in your darkness 
when you feel the deepest pain.
Let me shine there in your memory 
when there's not a friend in sight.
Let me help to heal your broken heart. 
Let me share love's light.

The road is hard. Sometimes you're afraid
You'll reach out to touch me and I'll slowly walk away.
But my hand is yours. Just reach out and take it!
I know you can make it. Love's light will show the way.

Seasons

As a small child I wandered in meadows of green,
I touched autumn leaves in the sun.
The seasons passed as if they would last.
"Forever" had only begun!

Moments, falling like snow,
Softly they enter, quickly they go,
And the seasons are as children at play.
To them life is only today.

Don't wait through long winters to live in the spring
For the years, like the leaves, quickly pass.
You have only this moment to reach for your dreams,
And discover a love that will last!

Keep Me Next To You

I don't share myself with others, 
I've been so long on my own.
I've spent so much time pretending 
that I never feel alone.
Many feelings go unspoken. 
Finding words is hard to do.
But you're the love I always needed 
so keep me next to you.

Next to you is where I long to be - 
in your heart, on your mind.
If you hold me in your memory I won't be hard to find.
When I know that someone cares enough to keep me company.
I'll stay close to you and keep you next to me.

Be my starlight in the evening. Be my sunlight in the day.
Be the fire's dancing embers - just don't be far away.
Passing strangers there are many; 
faithful friends are very few.
I need a love I can depend on

My Mother's Hands

Her hands nearly trembled the first time she touched
Her small bundle the day I was born.
She guided me gently through childhood dreams
And mended the clothes that were torn.
I love the warm smile she wears every day
And the sweet voice that gently commands
But I'll always remember through good days and bad
The wonder of my mother's hands.

Sometimes they were gentle and soft as the rain
When she kissed me and tucked me in bed.
Sometimes they were firm as she led me away
From the dangers that lay just ahead.
All the work they have done and the burdens they've borne
I know only God understands.
There is magic and mystery when I think about
The wonder of my mother's hands.

How I wish I could help now the hands that helped me.
They are wrinkled and so filled with pain.
She sits by her window and dreams of the time
She can bake bread and sew once again.
And I know when she passes from life's rocky shores
To more distant and beautiful lands
She will not be alone for a moment, I know,
For God will be holding her hands.
God will be holding her hands!

The House I Used To Live In

The house I used to live in is fading now with age,
Like a treasured book from yesterday a story on each page.
The weeds have taken over where flowers used to grow.
The paint is cracked and peeling and fence is bending low.

But the house I used to live in
Has magic on it's face,
And the memories it holds for me
No mansion could replace.
And so I walk with reverent step
As I visit it today,
Where the little child I used to be
Once more goes out to play.

The words of love once spoken within those silent walls
Have drifted into distant dreams that still my heart recalls.
Gray cobwebs cross the windows from which we used to peek
And refuse hides the little yard where we played hide-and-seek.

But the house I used to live in
Has magic on it's face,
And the memories it holds for me
No mansion could replace.
And so I walk with reverent step
As I visit it today,
Where the little child I used to be
Once more goes out to play!

Love Is Me

One day he came home and walked into the kitchen
To tell of his fun day at school.
The teacher had asked all the children in class
To write down, 'what does love mean to you!'
He gave me a paper he made with bright colors.
His face was still beaming with joy
And much that I know about love to this day
Is what I learned from my little boy.

Love is my overgrown teddy bear, Fluffy.
Lovin' is Valentines Day.
Love is the gold at the end of the rainbow.
Love's goin' outside to play.
Love is my Mom and Dad giving me a big hug.
Love is a country that's free.
Love is for livin'. Love is for givin'.
But most of all Love Is Me!

We don't understand it and yet we demand it,
And all of us need it to live.
We sometimes abuse it. We often misuse it -
A gift we don't know how to give.
A complex solution, a new resolution,
We try to define it in vain.
But if we'll look at love through the eyes of a child
We'll see that the answer is plain!

Am I Beautiful To You

I just met her in the hallway.
I'd never seen her there before.
But I noticed the appearance 
And the faded dress she wore.
Though her features were disfigured
I could see through this disguise.
She didn't need to ask the questions.
I could see them in her eyes.

Am I beautiful to you? Have you eyes to see my soul?
Do you know that I'm a child of God 
and your love can make me whole?
Am I beautiful to you? Do you see my light within?
Please love me from inside out, 
not from the outside in!

Everywhere I go I see them...
People asking for our time.
They are searching for acceptance -
Hungry for your love and mine.
In our different shapes and sizes
Only love can hide the scars
And give everyone the answer -
You are loved for what you are!

You draw me close to you with just one look at me.
I can see your candle burning in my night.

Where Did I Come From

Where did I come from? I'm longing to know 
The life that I lived there so long ago.
The memories of heaven still linger within
And one day I'll know them again.

Where am I going? How will I know
The road I should travel, the way I should go.
I'll look for the footprints He left in the sand
And wait for the touch of His hand.

I am forever a child of the light.
Searching to know of His way.
As I keep the flame of my faith burning bright
I know in my heart I'll see Him someday.

Who am I seeking? Will I understand
He holds me so close in the palm of His hand.
As He walks beside me my mission will be
To love as my Savior loves me.
To love as my Savior loves me!

Some search long for wisdom. Others search for gold.
While some reach out for power 
some just want a hand to hold.
When joy is found in giving and wealth is found in friends
You'll know love is all that matters in the end.

Love is all that matters. Love is all I need.
Just a song to break the silence 
and a time to plant the seed.
When we've traveled life's long highway 
and we look around the bend
We'll know love is all that matters in the end!

Love can fill the hunger, love can show the way.
It gives the heart a reason for living life today.
It takes us on the journey and brings us home again,
